Why we Excel
LevyCollect is a Specialised Debt Recovery Service devoted to nothing but the recovery of levies due to owners corporations, community associations, building management committees and company title corporations. It is the brand name of J.S. Mueller & Co, Solicitors. LevyCollect operates within the framework of the legal firm utilising dedicated collection staff working under the supervision of lawyers who specialise in strata law.
LevyCollect employs highly skilled paralegal staff. Each client is allocated to one of our collections officers who deals exclusively with that client’s matters from beginning to end.
We have also developed our own computer software for tracking and analysing each collection. This allows LevyCollect to deliver personalised service backed by a powerful electronic database which monitors the progress of all matters.
LevyCollect has taken on board the procedures of the debt collection industry and placed those systems into a legal office where the matters can be monitored in house by fully qualified legal staff conversant with the specific law applicable to these types of collections.

Instructions
Instructing this firm is as simple as providing us with a copy of the relevant strata roll and owner’s ledger. Any further information which you may have in relation to the debtor’s whereabouts, such as telephone numbers or alternate addresses, will also assist in reducing collection time.
As our clients are usually experienced strata managers we accept our instructions on the basis that the material provided to us reflects accurately the books and records of the Owners Corporations, all details presented to us have been properly recorded, all levies properly struck and that all amounts sought to be recovered are liquidated amounts properly due pursuant to Chapter 3, Part 3, Division 2 of the Strata Schemes Management Act (that is, levies, interest and costs).
In matters involving entities other than Owners Corporations, for example, building management committees and companies, we will also require to see a copy of the building management statement, company constitution or such other document as sets out the obligation of the owner to pay levies.
We will seek your specific instructions at the commencement of legal proceedings and at the time of entry of judgment when we will discuss potential means of recovering the outstanding debt.
As we do not initially anticipate costs on any single collection will exceed $750.00 exclusive of GST and disbursements we do not enter into a formal Costs Agreement unless a debtor takes action which indicates that fees may exceed that figure. At that time a costs agreement & disclosure statement will be sent to you setting out our fee estimate and other information.
